Dear friends and supporters:

      WestAid will celebrate its 25^th anniversary throughout 2010.  On behalf of our Director, our Board of Directors and our 25^th Anniversary Committee, I am asking for the assistance of our supporting churches to help us celebrate this event.   In lieu of a special one-time happening, we are asking our supporting churches to organize one or more events to benefit WestAid.  The purpose of this celebration is to bring the WestAid name and our mission to the attention of the Westside Fort Worth community as well as to assist in our fundraising efforts. 

                      Below, I have outlined several potential events that can help us accomplish our purpose of gathering food and funds for the benefit of WestAid. 

1.                  Hold a food drive, encouraging members to donate 25 cans, boxes of macaroni and cheese, etc.

2.                  Ask your members to collect pocket change for 25 days, beginning on April 1^st, with donations to be brought to the altar on Sunday, April 25^th.  This can also be done in July as well, as July 25^th falls on a Sunday.

3.                  Organize a team of 25 walkers/runners to participate in Trinity Trek, WestAid’s walk/run fundraiser, which will be on Saturday, May 8th.  Encourage team members to solicit donors for each mile walked or run.

4.                  Encourage children’s groups to hold a jump-a-thon or a bounce-a-thon, asking for sponsors for a 25 minute period.

5.                  Organize 25 volunteers to work at the Tarrant County Area Food Bank, with their time being credited to WestAid (WestAid receives monetary credit for food to be purchased from the Food Bank).

6.                  Encourage members to publicize events and to organize projects that best fit your congregation.

Please keep WestAid informed of your project or projects and the progress of your events.   Our Board of Directors and our 25^th Anniversary Committee are very excited about the potential success of these projects.  Please pray for WestAid throughout 2010 and for the success of our anniversary projects.  Thank you in advance for your interest and participation in our 25^th Anniversary promotion.
